Aly was in a wedding I shot a little over a year ago. I liked her when I first met her so I am so excited to be photographing her big day this fall. Aly has great style so I know the wedding will be amazing and I can't wait!
Aly & John have known each other for a long time and after a lot of effort on Aly's part, to convince John she wasn't just a friend's little sister, he saw the light and the rest was history!
When Aly and I were emailing about her day and photographic needs I asked her to tell me how John popped the question and the story does not disappoint!
They live in a small town outside of Salt Lake City, UT and so they often go to SLC on their dates. One night John told her he had received a bonus at work so he wanted to take her somewhere nice. SO off they went to a fancy restaurant, with her having no idea what was coming. After dinner he told her there was a nice little park he wanted to check out. When they arrived he led her to a darling little bridge over stream covered in candles, flower petals, and glitter just down the street from capitol hill. And with her mom and sister hiding nearby with a video camera he knelt down as it lightly snowed, shared the feelings of his heart and asked her to be his wife.
Seriously? Adorable. And I'm no story-teller but when I read Aly's account of that evening I could picture in perfectly in my head. So romantic and so sweet.
These two were a blast to work with. I loved every minute. They were clearly in love with each other. Every once in a while Aly would stop and look at me and say wait a minute, am I doing this right? I didn't even see you there! I had to tell Aly, if you forget I'm here, then you are doing everything perfectly! We spent most of the session letting John make Aly laugh and I have a feeling things are no different when they aren't being photographed.
Thanks again you two. So happy for you and I can't wait for October!
This is the perfect image to start with. It perfectly describes them, Aly laughing and John so happy to have her by his side.
See? more laughing!
and yes I gawked over her ring.
The cute little bridge where John proposed. And yes there was still some glitter on the ground. :)
After a quick outfit change we headed over to a grassy hill overlooking the capitol building.
Aly and John also love to play games together, their favorite of which is Uno.
Aly beat John every game they played during the session, but he was a good sport about it.
