Wyndham + Teankum: Mesa Temple Wedding

When Wyndham contacted me about doing formals for her and her soon to be husband I was pretty excited. She is one of the nicest people I know. And, of course, it's always exciting when someone is excited to work with me.

Wyndham and Teankum were troopers in the severe heat and the haboob that ended our session.
Despite the weather surprises we had a good time. At the end of our session Teankum even said  I've never had so much fun taking pictures! People who want to have fun taking their photos are my kind of people.
:) They were gems to work with.

Before the storm came we had some beautiful clouds! I didn't photoshop a single cloud in!

Congrats Mr & Mrs Conway! :)

Hannah + Geoff: Phoenix Chapel Wedding

This couple is awesome. They energize my nerdy heart. And they had a beautiful, intimate ceremony surrounded by friends and family full of love. Please enjoy. :)

They had her mother's wedding gown on display. I thought it was a lovely personal touch.

Loved their father-daughter and mother-son dances. So much emotion.

All smiles during the first dance. :)

Congrats again Mr. & Mrs. Way! I hope you have many happy years to come!

Aly + John: A Capitol Hill Engagement

Aly was in a wedding I shot a little over a year ago. I liked her when I first met her so I am so excited to be photographing her big day this fall. Aly has great style so I know the wedding will be amazing and I can't wait!

Aly & John have known each other for a long time and after a lot of effort on Aly's part, to convince John she wasn't just a friend's little sister, he saw the light and the rest was history!

When Aly and I were emailing about her day and photographic needs I asked her to tell me how John popped the question and the story does not disappoint!
They live in a small town outside of Salt Lake City, UT and so they often go to SLC on their dates. One night John told her he had received a bonus at work so he wanted to take her somewhere nice. SO off they went to a fancy restaurant, with her having no idea what was coming. After dinner he told her there was a nice little park he wanted to check out. When they arrived he led her to a darling little bridge over stream covered in candles, flower petals, and glitter just down the street from capitol hill. And with her mom and sister hiding nearby with a video camera he knelt down as it lightly snowed, shared the feelings of his heart and asked her to be his wife.
Seriously? Adorable. And I'm no story-teller but when I read Aly's account of that evening I could picture in perfectly in my head. So romantic and so sweet.

These two were a blast to work with. I loved every minute. They were clearly in love with each other. Every once in a while Aly would stop and look at me and say wait a minute, am I doing this right? I didn't even see you there! I had to tell Aly, if you forget I'm here, then you are doing everything perfectly! We spent most of the session letting John make Aly laugh and I have a feeling things are no different when they aren't being photographed.

Thanks again you two. So happy for you and I can't wait for October!

This is the perfect image to start with. It perfectly describes them, Aly laughing and John so happy to have her by his side.

See? more laughing!

and yes I gawked over her ring.

The cute little bridge where John proposed. And yes there was still some glitter on the ground. :)

After a quick outfit change we headed over to a grassy hill overlooking the capitol building.

Aly and John also love to play games together, their favorite of which is Uno.
Aly beat John every game they played during the session, but he was a good sport about it.

Taryn + Devin {Glendale Anniversary}

Devin and I have a back way connection in that his aunt was a youth leader for me at my church for several years. Although we didn't figure this out until Devin and I had known each other for a while.
After we both were married a little while him and his lovely wife Taryn moved into our apartment complex, actually into our building even. They were kind enough to lend us milk and help us move when we left. They are a great couple and it was a lot of fun to hang out with them for a couple hours while I took some pictures  to celebrate their 2nd anniversary.

Taryn and Devin are both down to earth and it is clear they are in love. They also have known each other since high school so they are so comfortable with each other. There love is much older than 2 years. :)
Devin likes to tease her in a loving way and I think she likes it because it makes her laugh. They just bought a home so it was fun for me to step out of my comfort zone and try something new as we spent the first half of their session capturing them in their new home. Such an exciting time for them, celebrating 2 years and their first home! (and a new car too :)

Devin has a graphic and web design business that I highly recommend checking out. His focus is on supporting small businesses (like me!) so naturally I'm a fan of his company.

They love to watch shows on Netflix together so of course we had to get a shot of that! Also it's hard to tell in this shot but that shelf above the tv is covered with Dr. Pepper items: bottles, lunch boxes and more. Taryn loves her Dr. Pepper. :)

They live on the west side of the valley so we took advantage and stopped by the Cardinals stadium for a few shots. Luckily there was a big #2 to acknowledge their 2 years of marriage.

See, I told you he is good at making her laugh. :)

Tired of  the smiley faces yet? ;)

Ashley & Keillor {Wedding Formals}

I don't think I could say enough nice things about these two. They were seriously gems to work with. Ashley had her priorities when it came to her wedding and she is a girl after my heart with great photos topping the list of must-haves. I love working with couples who are as excited about getting great shots as I am.

I have more to say but for now I'm just going to share a couple photos from their Bride & Groom session.

Come back for more soon!
